David E. Hibberd was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 21, 1952. He has two older brothers and a younger sister who have contributed to his growing years and provided stories for him to write about.
Some of David’s accomplishments while growing up include becoming an Eagle Scout, earning his Duty to God Award, graduating from Skyline High School with the class of 1970, and serving a mission for the LDS Church.
After returning home from his mission in 1974 he landed a job at First Security Bank of Utah as a coin wrapper. A few months later his future wife, Sherrie, received a transfer to the Large Accounts department where David worked. It took a couple of months and the proddings from his best friend before he worked up the courage to ask Sherrie on a date. Less than a year later the two were married for time and all eternity at the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 16, 1976.
On May 11, 1977 their first son, Jonathan, was born. In April, 1978 David moved his family to Spokane, Washington to be close to Sherrie’s family. Andrea came into the world and their family on August 5, 1979 and on July 29, 1982 Jason completed the family.
With Andrea’s marriage in 2000 and the birth of her son, Tynon on March 2, 2001 the family grew. Tayla made her appearance on March 10, 2005.
Jason married in 2004 on Valentine’s day and his son, Ayden, was born on November 26, 2008.
Since Tynon was three months old, David has been providing Grandpa Day Care to him and now his sister, Tayla.
